"This is a nice town."
The view from my father-in-law's window is spectacular from the 8th floor. We can see for miles--even the pigeons line up to admire.
"Is that the ocean?"
True enough, the bluish haze in the distance resembles water.
"It looks like Lake Superior, doesn't it?"
Lake Superior was his childhood playground. Although, this would be out of character for Lake Superior in February. The Lake at this time of year is filled with chards of crystal blue ice and surrounded by piles of snow. Our pseudo-lake is a soft, diffused blue lined with a menagerie of trees. The view from the 8th floor resembles a forest with houses peeking through the trees.
"Why would anyone want to build a house in the middle of the woods?"
"I don't know--living here is kind of like living in the woods."
The Georgia Piedmont is heavily wooded, but it seems less so from the ground level. I welcome the shade in summer.
A physical therapist interrupts our morning chat.
"Good morning Mr. Dale. Are you ready to go for a walk with me down the hall?"
"Okee-doke."
Meds turn a hospital into a nice town and the distant Georgia haze into a beautiful lake. They also make a naturally sweet man even sweeter.
He never realized he was in the hospital--not a bad thing.
I agree it is a "nice town" with some of the best-scrambled eggs around.
Piedmont Newnan Hospital patient satisfaction: two thumbs up.
